Nichijou Episode 10

What kind of a street light is this?!
What have I thought about Nichijou thus far?:
@_@
Brief Synopsis: Lucky Star on crack.
Much like Lucky Star and several other moe series based off of 4-koma manga, this series stars cute high school girls doing cute things. What sets Nichijou (or "My Ordinary Life") apart from the other moe titles is its plot, which I still don't know what to make of as of yet. Each episode features several skits molded into one episode. Now, the three cute high school girls that look like they should still be in elementary school are not the only characters the show focuses on. There's the robot, Nano, the 8-year-old professor, Professor, the talking cat, Sakamoto, and several other high school students. So, yes, it's a pretty large cast, and yes, I still don't know where this show is going, but me being a huge fan of slapstick, random comedy that I am, I've decided to stick to this show to the very end
Episode10:
Despite the fact that she looks like an emotionless version of Azumangah Daioh's Osaka (with glasses), she may be one of my favorite characters in this show.
The first skit involves a game of red light, green light with Mai being 'it'. Once Yuuko and Mio freeze in place, Mai does something I myself have done numerous times before. She takes her shoes off and sits down in the shade while her two friends fry under the heat of the summer sun. And the skit ends there. The next skit has Yuuko arriving to school late only to find that an eraser has been wedged between her classroom's door. Not wanting to fall for such a cliche prank, she then attempts to enter her classroom through the back door...which is locked. Still not giving up hope, she then proceeds to use the  "lower door" only to find that Mai had placed an eraser there as well. At the end of her rope, she tries the windows, but...
Only in Nichijou
Wut
Following the "eraser skit", the trio of friends are shown outside the school, with Yuuko pretending to be an "invincible alien", only to be hit by a ball, falling to the ground in the process (ah, irony). We then cut scenes to Nano and Professor's household, were the two are, for some reason, playing trumpets in front of Sakamoto (who doesn't seem to be enjoying their performance).Afterwards, we finally get to see more of that blonde chick with the giant ribbon whose name I can no longer recall because she doesn't show up that much. Her skit was probably the most enjoyable.
This was my face throughout that entire skit.

The segment starts out with the blonde chick making her way to the park to eat some free somen, but when she arrives, she finds that the event is being held by a strict, bitter middle-aged woman who, after throwing some somen into the bamboo tube, then starts throwing in strange, random items. The skit ends when her husband reunites with her from a long journey involving somen.
Seriously, wut?
We then cut to Nano and Professor's household once more where Proffesor, after trying out a new hairstyle, feels that she should start acting more 'mature' by ordering Nano around and attempting to cover up Sakamoto with books so that he won't "catch a cold". Though this skit wasn't as funny as the one with that blonde chick, it was fairly adorable (but then again, most skits with this trio tend to be this). This skit concludes when Sakamoto uses his trump card against Professor in an attempt to get her to leave him alone.
Yes, it does
LIES! D:
The skit that follows revolves around Yuuko and her hatred for studying (something I'm sure most students, including myself, can easily relate to) as well as her plans for the future. And that's pretty much it, but what carries this skit is all of Yuuko's eccentric overreactions, movements, and mentality. Much like the last skit that took place in Yuuko's room, it ends with her mom violently getting her to shut up.

What is that thing on Yuuko's shirt?!

First the principal performs a German suplex on a deer and now this?!
The episode ends with Yuuko fishing out a boot and tea kettle from the river...and that's it. There were also some of those random scene breaks, like Mai chocking on the soap from her bubbles, another one those weird, pointless Helvitica Standard things that (this time) revolved around a brunette that believes that she can improve with praise, and finally, with Mai randomly stating that she thinks people who eat sushi with their bare hands are cool. Never change Mai.
And so this episode gets a rating of, out of 5:

Not the funniest episode this series has to offer, but that somen scene with the blonde chick and Yuuko's mom's wrestling move certainly helped improve the score.
