[C] The Money of Soul and Possiblilty Control Episode 10

There are two of them?! And the one on the right has green hair and speaks in Engrish?!

With 'C' continuing to change the lives and futures of many, Jennifer and Kimimaro finally decide to take on Mikuni to save their own futures. The two decide to enlist the help of the information broker, Taketazaki, who believes that Mikuni can only be defeated if they make the yen as useless as paper. He then manages to somehow throw some of Mikuni's savings all over Japan...And chaos ensues. This scene was done excellently, from the crowd's overjoyed reactions to suddenly gaining a large sum of money, to their frustrated reactions upon finding out that the yen is now useless.

I don't know why, but that pink dog balloon thing caught my eye.

And so it begins.

What is with this show and its random victory dances? On another note, nice apron.

Kimamro then decides to challenge one of the members of the Guild while Jennifer battles Mikuni elsewhere. Out of concern for Msyu, Kimimaro refuses to have her participate in the battle against the creepy dude in the Hawaiian shirt whose name escapes me. Though the battle initially looks bleak for Kimimaro, but he manages to land a final, winning blow on that creepy guy with the aid of Msyu. Jennifer, on the other hand, is in the opposite situation.

Money as a substitute for blood...okay...

DID NOT SEE THIS COMING.

Just when I was beginning to like her too.

After Q's "awakening", Jennifer no longer stands a chance and suffers a crushing defeat. Before she passes, however, she gives Kimimaro her asset, Georges, and then I left my mouth hanging open after realzing what just happened. Kimimaro, seething with rage, charges at Mikuni without thinking...Not a very smart move, though you can't really blame the guy after what just happened.

He was owned so bad.

The episode ends on another cliff hanger, hinting that the final showdown between Mikuni and Kimimaro will finally be featured on the following episode. Although Jeniffer died here, this episode was still extremely well-done in setting up the final battle and increasing the tension in this series' final episodes.

Well, this won't end well.

So, what have I thought of [C] The Money of Soul and Possiblilty Control thus far?:
Finally, FUNimation actually managed to pick up a decent series for the new season!  Seriously, I was beginning to lose hope in FUNimation's taste in anime series, what with recently licensing lackluster titles like We Without Wings, Blessing of the Campanella, Freezin, The Scarlet Ammo, and Toriko (the first four mentioned being bland titles starring a large cast of 2-D girls and focusing mainly on fanservice). So, needless to say, [C] was a welcome addition to this year's season as well as the only decent series licensed by the FUNimation Company for this season. The series stars Kimimaro Yoga, a college student who works part-time in a convenient store and stumbles upon the Financial District, a world that functions through finance deals and can either improve or destroy your future.
Episode 9:

So colorful

 In this episode. "C" begins to make its move, and little by little, countries are affected either through its economy or by disappearing completely. However, Mikuni refuses to give up and manages to temporarily prevent Japan from being erased.

I though for sure that Mikuni was going to pull a Phoenix Wright pose here.

Despite all of Mikuni's efforts, however, Japan is still greatly affected by "C", to the point that numerous people, mainly children, have begun to disappear. Only a few babies have been born recently, effectively dwindling the country's population. Buildings, parks, and businesses are erased from existence, and some of the citizens who were not erased have their personalities altered to be more apathetic and lazy.

Hanabi, what have they done to you?!

What was up with that random dancing?!

 Kimimaro immediately catches wind of this as his co-worker and classmate, Hanabi, have become less enthusiastic about work and school respectively. Kimimaro's co-worker eventually disappears, and Hanabi may also be heading to that direction soon. That creeper madhatter is also beginning to show his true colors, and I'm calling it now, that guy was the mastermind behind "C".

This guy scares me.

Engrish aside, I've begun to like Jeniffer more and more.

In the Financial District, we see Jennifer and Kimimaro discussing their nation's future. Jeniffer has become somewhat like an older sister figure to Kimimaro, and I find their growing relationship to be rather adorable. Likewise, Kimimaro and Msyu's relationship is even more adorable, as well as Msyu's crush on Kimimaro, though he remains to be oblivious to this, mostly in part to the fact that he's been crushing on Hanabi for a while now, and that Msyu is supposed to be a personification of his "future".

Wait, what?!

That's one way to confess your love.

Tch. And I was planning on shipping them together too...Whatever, a kiss is a kiss.

Not evil at all.

Another strong episode for [C], and the mood really makes you realize how soon this series will be ending...): Kimimaro also raises an intersting question in regards to what Msyu may represent as his "future". (He believes that she could be his daughter, I want to believe that she's his future wife). I was also pretty suspicious of Masakaki for a while now, but this episode pretty much confirms it.
